Original artwork description
We visited Iceland as a family in the summer of 2025, and the view of the Svínafellsjökull Glacier on the south side of the island stopped me completely. There is something about the scale of a massive ice field from a distance that is immediately captivating. This ink piece is an attempt to get at the drama of a brilliant wedge of ice standing on the horizon. I used techniques I can't fully control, which felt appropriate for a landscape that is still very much in motion.
