Colour is the subject of this painting. As well as a charming character study of two wildly differing types of flower. On the left, we have a few stems of the meandering wild flower Red Campion and on the right a Dutch Iris from the garden.
The brushwork is loose and painterly with areas of small detail in the campion and the jug.
