This is the first I made with my selfmade tempera paints which you can see on the "Me at work" section. I started out with "dry" bold brushstokes, while following an inner rhythm...
In June 2015 tons of dead fish were floating on Berlin's waterways,
which made me dedicate the painting - then titled FLOATING - to the scandal.
Now it is called FLOATING-S and detached again from the scandal mentioned above, giving it new room for associations as in the beginning when it was made.
It sure is an expressive, contemporary painting with bold brush work and an organic feeling to it. The paint consists of a selfmade mix of binders with pigments which gives the work a seemingly raw surface.
18" x 14 " / 45 x 36 cm on plain off white paper.
