Original artwork description:

This piece is oil painting, made on a pine wood board, mounted on a frame. A piece with a wide palette of colors that represents a group of flamingos who walk through the salt lake in the city of Calpe. The intention is to give a daily scene a rhythmic and colorful representation of these flamingos who arrive in search of their favorite food, the Artemia salina, a crustacean that gives them one of their most known and extraordinary characteristics, the pink plumage. These birds perform elegant movements, synchronize and march as if it were a choreography, their stylized figure make them really attractive. In search of their food these birds move their long legs, inside the mud, so that the Artemia salina emerges and with its beak catch them by filtering the water, this habit of tap in the mud, Given the similarity, it is possibly also the origin of the name of the Spanish music par excellence, flamenco.

Materials used:

oil and panel
