First Light Rising (2026) Original Oil Painting by Michelle Gibbs

This piece is all about that moment when the sun breaks across the land and everything glows. The sky is washed in warm corals and pinks, with a burst of golden yellow pouring through, while the land below is built up in rich plums, purples and flashes of turquoise and pink. I kept the brushwork loose and expressive so the light feels alive and moving.

It's about the feeling of standing still and watching the land light up, that quiet joy you get at the start or end of a day. Bold, uplifting and full of colour, it brings real warmth to a space.
