FIGURES-04 (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Kalina Gotseva

FIGURES-04 is an original abstract monotype featuring delicate, translucent shapes suspended against a rich blue background.

The overlapping forms create an intriguing sense of movement and depth. They might suggest figures, gestures, or something entirely different, depending on how you look at them. The artwork is made using a light-sensitive process, combined with my own handmade exposure plates. Each shape is created through variations in transparency, allowing light to form the image directly on the paper.

The contrast between the deep blue background and the soft, almost luminous shapes gives the piece a quiet but distinctive presence.

FIGURES-04 is a unique, one-of-one original artwork from my FIGURES series, not a print or reproduction.
