Faded Flow (2021) Original Watercolour by Margarita Fischer

Some things become more present the less clearly we try to hold them.

In this painting, white roses emerge from layers of water, pigment and light. Their forms shift between clarity and dissolution, while deep turquoise and green create a space that feels almost without boundaries.

I wanted the flowers to remain delicate without becoming fragile — present, yet never completely fixed. Watercolor allows edges to disappear and colors to move beyond the forms that first contained them.

The painting explores that quiet space between seeing and sensing, where a flower gradually becomes light, color and atmosphere.
