Enduring Beauty

Flowers are fleeting. Their beauty blooms for a brief moment before fading away, yet the emotions they awaken in us can remain long after the petals have fallen.

In this painting, a lush bouquet of peonies rests upon a solid stone pedestal, symbolising permanence and the passage of time. The contrast between the delicate, ephemeral flowers and the enduring stone reflects the relationship between the fleeting nature of life and the lasting presence of beauty.

I wanted to capture the idea that, whatever times we live in, beauty continues to bring us joy, inspire us and enrich our lives. The flowers may fade, but the feelings they evoke — admiration, warmth and happiness — remain within us.

For me, Unfading Beauty is a reflection on the enduring power of beauty: flowers fade, moments pass, but the joy that beauty brings us can stay with us forever.
