Embrace ~ A Memory (2020) Original Mixed-media Painting by Phyllis Mahon

A woman lifts her face to a lover; his hand gently touches her breast while his other hand cups her flowing hair.
She is wearing a flowing transparent dress and by her feet foliage ignites to rise in vivid, sparking colour.

It is painted in Winsor & Newton watercolour, Derwent Inktense permanent watercolour pencils and white and gold gouache.

I have used my favourite grey Khadi Indian handmade paper.
This lovely paper measures 12 x 16 inches and has an attractive deckle edge.

As well as some close up photographs to show the texture and the surface, I have shown a photograph of the painting in my studio.
I have also created two Computer Generated Images showing the size in a room and how the deckle edge might appear if it were to be "floated" instead of covering the edge of the paper with a mount/mat.
