They advance with the slowness of beings who know time. Their footsteps raise the dust of the earth while the sky is ablaze with the last lights of the day. There is no rush for them. They carry in their walk the memory of forgotten tracks, seasons, births and departures.
The women who accompany them, light as dreams, are neither riders nor goddesses. One dances towards the sky, another abandons itself to the wind, a third welcomes the horizon. They do not direct them, they accompany them. As if each elephant carried within itself an invisible soul, a part of freedom that only poetry can reveal.
Alongside them, the baby elephants discover the world. Their presence reminds us that true strength also knows how to protect fragility, and that tenderness can be the quietest of powers.
Here, the boundary between animal and human disappears. The body becomes breath, the landscape becomes memory. Elephants don't just cross the savannah; they cross our imagination, taking with them this wild and luminous part that we sometimes seek without knowing how to give it a name.
