This painting captures a dreamy moment in nature, when the sky becomes almost as important as the landscape itself. I was fascinated by the movement of the clouds and the way their soft pink and blue colours change the atmosphere around the mountains and trees. Turquoise reflections in the water bring another layer of colour and light to the scene.

The simplified shapes of the pine trees in the foreground create a sense of depth, while the moving clouds give the painting a feeling of freedom and movement. I wanted to capture not just the landscape, but the almost magical feeling of being surrounded by nature and looking at at a sky that seems endless.
