Moonlight, Just Us
''Moonlight, Just us'' explores the fragile balance between chaos and order through an imaginary language of gestures, rhythm and movement.
The painting was created without a preparatory sketch. I began with a single mark and allowed each gesture to respond to the one before it, building the composition intuitively. In this sense, my process is closer to improvisation than to traditional drawing — almost like a jazz musician responding to the sounds around him.
Layers of black, white and gold marks overlap across the surface, creating the impression of an unknown writing system. Some gestures are precise and structured, while others dissolve into transparent washes and softer traces. On the left side, the colours become almost atmospheric, while the right side is more defined and energetic. Concentric circles at the centre act as a visual counterpoint, bringing a sense of balance to the surrounding movement.
The marks resemble letters, but they do not form a readable language. This is an essential part of my artistic research: I am interested in what happens when writing loses its obligation to communicate a specific word and becomes instead a visual and emotional experience.
The title ''Moonlight, Just us'' was inspired by Jennie's song You & Me. The idea of two people sharing a private moment, understood without needing to explain themselves, resonated with the way I think about this work.
For me, this painting is ultimately about accepting complexity rather than trying to eliminate it. Sometimes balance is not the absence of chaos, but the ability to move within it.
I invite the viewer not to ask “What does it say?”, but rather “What does it make me feel?”
