Artwork description
In Sept-Îles, corrugated metal dominates the landscape. Architecturally, it is not the most attractive feature, but from a photographic standpoint—when the light is intense and strikes the surface at a near-parallel angle—it yields semi-abstract images of great graphic beauty.
A striking black and white image showcases the geometric patterns of a corrugated metal building facade. The strong lines and repeating vertical elements create a sense of order and depth, enhanced by dramatic shadows cast by an overhead overhang and a triangular roofline. A modern spotlight is mounted on the wall, adding a point of interest within the otherwise abstract composition. The minimalist aesthetic emphasizes texture, form, and the interplay of light and shadow.
Printed on 100% cotton paper—free of acid and optical brighteners (Fine Art print on Red River Palo Duro Softgloss Rag 315 gsm paper) using Epson pigment inks. The paper measures 25 in x 17 in, and the image measures 23.4 in x 13.2 in. Consequently, the image is surrounded by a margin.
