This photograph explores the relationship between structure, light, and the fleeting presence of water. Resting on the broad surface of the leaf, droplets gather within its natural contours, revealing a landscape of ridges, reflections, and subtle variations in tone.
I am drawn to moments when familiar natural forms begin to resemble something larger than themselves. Seen at this scale, the leaf becomes less a botanical object and more a study of surface and rhythm, where parallel veins guide the eye across the image like lines on a map or the contours of a landscape.
The water droplets introduce an element of impermanence to this ordered structure. Some remain as small, luminous spheres while others spread into softer, irregular forms, briefly altering the geometry beneath them. Their reflections catch the available light, creating points of brightness against the deep green surface.
Created in a minimalist visual language, the photograph focuses on texture and details, inviting the viewer to slow down and discover the complexity contained within an ordinary fragment of nature.
