Children’s Hoops Giclée print by Ethel Spowers

43 x 38cm (unframed)

£78

Linocut 1936. As with its companion print ‘Swings’, this is a depiction of simple joy. There is no sentimentality here, no intended moral. A group of children in pursuit of their hoops run helter-skelter towards the descent of a hill; a young dog with borrowed excitement prances at their feet, and we, the onlookers, enjoy by proxy the excitement and exhilaration of the children’s game.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 850 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.
