Cherry Trio (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Kaz Jones

This realistic still-life painting depicts three ripe cherries resting against a deep black background. The cherries are arranged in a simple composition, their glossy crimson skins catching a soft beam of light from the upper right. Half of each cherry falls into shadow, creating a dramatic contrast between luminous highlights and velvety darkness. Subtle reflections glimmer on the fruit's curved surfaces, while their slender green stems arc gracefully and overlap, adding a sense of natural balance.

The black background absorbs nearly all surrounding light, making the cherries appear to emerge from the darkness. Rich chiaroscuro lighting emphasises their roundness and texture, evoking the style of classical Dutch and Baroque still-life paintings. The shadows are soft-edged and deep, preserving detail while enhancing the mood and depth of the scene.

DELIVERY INFORMATION
I shall be arranging for delivery to be via courier (not Evri!) and shipping charges will reflect this. As prices will vary depending on the purchaser's location, if the actual shipping price is less than that charged, I will refund the difference. I am happy to arrange collection.

The high cost of shipping from the UK to the USA is, unfortunately, out of my hands and I won't cut corners by using the cheapest courier or not having insurance as that will just be tempting fate!

IMPORTANT - Rather sadly I've decided that, following Brexit, I can no longer sell my artwork to purchasers in the EU. The customs/VAT regulations are an absolute nightmare and I don't want to risk purchasers having to fork out a lot of unforeseen extra money when taking delivery, and even if I agree to pay Customs and VAT upfront before sending out, the red tape involved just looks horrendous. Plus the packaging regulations that came into force in August 2026 means it is now just too bureaucratic and expensive to ship into the EU.

I will still be selling to customers outside the EU as there's been no changes there so everything remains the same. My apologies, all I can say is that I voted to remain.
