Original artwork description:

The carrion crow was the last of the series for January! Not to worry I’m not moving too far away from the birds as I’ve got a book to finish.

The carrion crow, like all other crows is highly intelligent, capable of an extraordinary range of vocalisations and the use of tools.

In Lyon, the crows all seem to gather for the night as the sun begins to set, flying from heavily populated areas, where they have been looking for food, to a familiar spot to bed down for the night. This means the square about two minutes walk from the apartment is alive with the chatter, cawing and croaking of birds, no doubt sharing their stories of the day before nightfall.

A4 acrylic, pencil and ink on 250gsm paper.

Materials used:

Acrylic, pencilled ink on 250 gsm paper
