This is a still life featuring a bowl with transparent plastic shelves that were broken when they were removed from a pharmacy's glasses rack to make more space for vertically storing music CDs, as many wouldn't fit horizontally. This bowl (the largest in a set of several colored bowls that nest inside each other) sits on a planer that is also used for drawing. Behind it is a translucent curtain and a window offering a view of the blue sky. This work speaks to the need to break free from the pigeonholing that some try to impose on art and to reclaim the idea that art is light passing through a prism (when it is expressed), and this light can be broken down into various colors, among which is the story contained within the artwork.

Original and unique drawing with pencil, graphite, ink, and acrylic on paper.
Dimensions (width x height): 42x56cm (16.53x22.05")
Year 2026

pencil and ink
