There is something magical about the moment when a breeze lifts petals into the air, transforming an ordinary garden into a sea of colour, light and movement. That fleeting feeling of joy and freedom inspired this painting.
Created with expressive layers of oil and acrylic on canvas, I combined dripped, poured and gestural paint with softly suggested floral forms to create an immersive, atmospheric composition. Rich violets, vibrant pinks, warm golds and delicate whites merge through transparent layers, allowing colours to glow and overlap in unexpected ways. Rather than painting individual flowers in precise detail, I wanted to capture the sensation of standing amongst them as petals drift gently overhead, filling the air with energy and wonder. The result is an expressive celebration of nature's abundance, inviting the viewer to pause, breathe deeply and lose themselves in a garden where colour, light and imagination are carried effortlessly on the wind.
