Expressive landscape drawing based on scenes from rural Pennsylvania near Schuylkill County. I was drawn to the way distance turns mountains blue, something I've always noticed both in Pennsylvania and further afield. This drawing tries to hold onto that sense of atmospheric distance without being too literal about it. The warmer hits of colour in the middle distance seem to suggest sunlight on the fields. The overall tones came partly from the materials and partly from memories of being outdoors in PA.
