This piece feels like the memory of summer exploding across the canvas just before the season disappears.
This large diptych is an immersive celebration of colour, movement and emotion inspired by the wild beauty of late summer meadows. Layers of expressive dripped paint, energetic gestural marks and bursts of vibrant florals collide across the canvas, creating a sense of joyful chaos and freedom. Rich poppies, daisies and abstract blooms emerge through sweeping black lines and luminous veils of colour, drawing the eye through the painting like tangled wildflowers dancing in warm evening light.
I wanted this piece to feel alive and untamed, balancing moments of softness with explosive energy. The large scale allows the viewer to become fully immersed in the movement, texture and atmosphere of the work. There is a sense of nostalgia within the painting, like holding onto the final intensity of summer before the seasons begin to turn.
