Big-headed Bill is an original and amusing art brut sculpture that combines wood and recycled leather.
Quite zany with his big head and stunted arms, he strikes a balance between a shoebill – which might be short-legged or even dwarf-like – and a monster bird symbolising those little geniuses with big heads...
His head and body are made from the wood of two large calabashes, carved using superfine wood pulp, then painted with acrylics and varnished.
His beak is made from genuine leather from an old child’s bicycle saddle…
His eyes are made of blown glass, like most CalbinoOz sculptures.
