Original artwork description
Weathered explores the quiet traces left behind by the sea.
Layers of muted rust, blue-grey and soft mineral tones build a surface shaped by time rather than place. Veils of colour, worn edges, scratches and faint linear marks appear and disappear, hinting at structures altered by salt air and shifting weather.
Moving away from a traditional horizon, the painting focuses instead on atmosphere and memory. It invites the viewer to spend time with the surface, discovering subtle details that gradually reveal themselves.
Inspired by the coastline of East Kent, Weathered is an original acrylic painting created in my Ramsgate studio.
Painted on a deep-edge canvas with finished sides, it is ready to hang without the need for framing.
