In Between Forms, language becomes both structure and residue—constructed, disrupted, and ultimately dissolved. The work begins with a physical deconstruction of text, where fragments sourced from newspapers and printed material are cut, selected, and intuitively reassembled. These phrases do not follow a fixed narrative but arrive at their own internal coherence.
The painting develops through layered washes of deep blues—indigo, ultramarine, and desaturated grey-blues—punctuated by moments of white, and traces of red and violet. Within this shifting field, language is introduced as both anchor and interruption. Rendered in graphite, oil stick, and pastel, the words surface, resist, and begin to dissolve into the material.

As the process intensifies, legibility breaks down. Writing loosens into asemic gesture—marks that carry meaning through rhythm and pressure rather than literal reading. Drips and accumulations of pigment suggest a state of suspension, as if the painting is held between formation and dissolution.
Between Forms occupies this in-between space—where language fragments, meaning shifts, and painting takes over.
