A semi-abstract oil painting inspired by the rugged charm of the Norfolk coast in summer time. This contemporary beach scene reflects the peace and solitude that can be found in this region of England. The shapes and colours evoking an emotional response of memories of walking beside the sea.

The canvas is primed with an oil based primer and the painting is built up gradually with layers of oil paint, to create an expressive texture. The foreground is glossy, receding into the matt distance.
