In this piece, I wanted to capture the fleeting quiet that exists right in the middle of movement—a quiet pause where light catches the delicate, layered folds of the tutu and spills softly across the form. Surrounded by deep, dramatic shadows, the light becomes a living presence, highlighting the gentle arch of the pose and the weightless grace of the dancer. My focus was purely on rendering the sensation of light dissolving into shadow, evoking the stillness, atmosphere, and unspoken emotion of a single, tranquil moment on stage.
The work is painted with oil on stretched linen, sides are white.
