Ballerina dandelion (2024) Original Pencil Drawing by Debbie Young

This artwork has been created with Carbothello chalk pastel pencils on Clairefontaine Pastelmat. This creates a soft effect. I have tried to create movement with the positioning of the dandelion seeds and a snapshot of time. It will need to be kept behind glass, framed to protect it from light. It is sprayed with a chalk preserve solution to keep it fresh for many, many years to come. The artwork evokes dance and movement with lots of elegance and grace as the dandelion seeds float softly away from the ballerina.
