Atlantic Surf (2020) Original Oil Painting by Tetiana Surshko

100 x 70 x 2cm (unframed) / 100 x 70cm (actual image size)

£1,358.08

A bright Atlantic morning: turquoise water rolls onto a golden beach, white surf breaks over dark rocks, and a blue headland fades into the haze under a sky full of fast summer clouds. Atlantic Surf is a large expressionist seascape in which the whole scene is built from blue, from the deep cobalt of the horizon to the pale milky foam, with the warm sand and the brown rocks giving the eye a place to rest.

The painting belongs to my Living Water series, where I paint water in all its moods. This is the happy one. I live near the ocean in Lisbon, and this is the Atlantic I see on a windy sunny day: cold, loud, clean, and so blue that it does not look real. I wanted to keep that energy and that light without a single grey tone.

The canvas is 100 x 70 cm (about 39.4 x 27.6 inches) in landscape format, a generous size that fills the wall above a sofa, a bed or a long sideboard on its own. It suits a living room, a bedroom or an office in white, beige or light grey, and it brings a holiday feeling into a coastal home or a seaside rental.

It is painted in oil on stretched cotton canvas. The sky and water are laid in smooth blended layers with long horizontal strokes, the foam is dabbed on with thick white touches, and the rocks are built with a palette knife in heavy impasto, so they stand out from the surface like real stone. The painting is signed, varnished for protection, and the sides are painted, so it is ready to hang with no frame needed.

It ships stretched on its wooden bars in a sturdy protective box, never rolled, by tracked and insured courier from Lisbon, Portugal, usually within 3 to 5 working days. Keep it out of direct sunlight and dust gently with a soft dry cloth. If you would like more photos, a close-up of the rocks and foam or a view in a room setting, send me a message and I will be glad to help.
