What caught my attention was a large sunlit stone at the water’s edge — its warm ochre and orange tones standing out against the cool blues of the water. Beyond it, the distant hills seem almost weightless, softened by light and air.

Painting outdoors always brings a certain immediacy to watercolour. The changing light, movement of the water and limited time make every decision more intuitive. I wanted to preserve that freshness here — the contrast between warm stone and cool water, the transparency of the washes and the quiet spaciousness of the landscape.
