Alight came by way of some similar background brushstrokes as "Not Miscable" and ended with a massive explosion like "Salvo". I graduated red and magenta glazes from the lower right, one by one, to cool hues like process cyan and pthalo green. I used the edge of a few palette knives, my favorite tools, to spread sparks igniting from this detonating sun. The sparks seem to lift off that canvas because I used hues that are polar opposites of the atmosphere through which they're propelled. Some of these sparks and shards are glittering metallic white. All of them them, however, are mid-ignition. They're like the best part of a firework; during that moment in time when this sky is acutely Alight.

Alight arrives prewired, ready to hang.
