🔶 ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This sculpture captures a grotesque, two-faced female figure frozen in a grand theatrical gesture.
With one hand raised high in a dramatic pose and the other holding a pair of drumsticks at her waist, she embodies the chaotic energy of the stage.
Her stylized body features prominent elements, a textured costume, and a rich green oxidized patina that emphasizes her abstract, vibrant anatomy.
I know my stuff about acting and actors, having been around them since my youth. This connection became a daily reality after high school, when I spent several years working as an art decorator in the state opera house.
Well, my wife is a famous Hungarian actress. So, of course, world of theater and film is a lifelong inspiration for my work, and in several works I pay tribute to theater, film and actors. One of latest works is this sculpture of Actress.
As is my habit, even with this work I could not prevent myself from infusing it with a subtle touch of humor.
I believe it captures both elegance of stage and playful spirit behind curtains.
