Jellyfish (2020) Original Acrylic Painting by Deimante Bruzguliene

Jellyfish

Award-Winning Original Abstract Acrylic Painting

Jellyfish is an original abstract acrylic painting inspired by the mysterious beauty, movement and organic forms of life beneath the ocean.

The flowing composition developed through layers of fluid acrylic, allowing colour and texture to interact naturally across the canvas. Warm gold, orange, red and white emerge dramatically against the deep background, creating delicate cellular structures and translucent forms that seem to float and move through the composition.

As the painting developed, these organic shapes began to remind me of jellyfish drifting through dark water — fragile and luminous, yet constantly changing with the movement around them. This visual association inspired the title Jellyfish.

Unlike my highly detailed wildlife portraits, this abstract work allowed me to work more instinctively, giving the materials greater freedom to influence the final composition. The fluid process creates intricate patterns and textures that cannot be reproduced exactly, making the painting completely unique.

Copyright remains with the artist, Deimante Bruzguliene, following the sale of the original artwork.

I would leave the £160 SOLD price unchanged. Artfinder confirms that historical sale price.

And I'd absolutely upload the award certificate + artwork image you just showed me as the final gallery image. It is particularly useful because it visually connects Jellyfish to the American Art Awards 3rd Place.

One correction I'd make immediately in the Artfinder technical fields: the listing currently says 75 × 50 × 1.5 cm / 750 × 50 cm actual image size. That 750 cm is clearly erroneous. If the painted surface is the full canvas, enter 75 × 50 cm as the actual image size.
