Rovinj – or Rovingno, to use its Italian name, is a beautiful historic town on the Adriatic coast. Formerly Italian, this region now belongs to Croatia and is a popular tourist destination because of its natural beauty and attractive buildings.I painted this view, looking through a window of the apartment I stayed in in the old town. With its view to the narrow street below, this is a typical Rovinj scene. I love the muted colours and old stone of the buildings in Rovinj - it is truly an artist's paradise!
“A window to Rovinj” was painted on site in Rovinj, Croatia on Hahnemühle 600g mould-made watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. It comes with a warm white mount to fit a standard frame size of 30cm x 40 cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
