A Thousand Stories 39 (2026) Original Oil Painting by Alexeï Yakurin

An original oil portrait of a young man with a calm, slightly guarded expression and pale blue eyes. The face is modelled in warm salmon, coral and peach tones and set against a soft, cool sky-blue background, so the skin seems to glow against the quiet field of colour.

Thick, confident brushstrokes and visible impasto on the forehead, nose and cheeks give the surface a tactile, sculptural quality. The dark, loosely painted shirt anchors the composition and lets the warmth of the face take centre stage.

Direct and understated, this portrait brings a modern, contemporary feel to any room. It would sit well in a living space, a studio or a gallery-style wall of figurative works.
