A bold heart (2024) Original Oil Painting by Clara Wilkinson

A big expansive oil on canvas. This is an abstract expressionist painting with gestural brush marks and loose drippy areas of paint. I used lots of yellow, blues, pinks and greens sweeping the brush in big strokes and allowing the paint to be thick and textural in some areas. I wanted to create the sensation of movement and light. This is a painting about expression and freedom. It was painted in response to the feeling of walking up on the Sussex Downs and the great expanse of sky and light.
I have varnished this painting with a matt varnish to protect against light and dust. The painting has fixtures on the back ready to hang on your wall. Each of my paintings is packaged carefully by me and shipped promptly to you.
