This series of paintings is dedicated to the Armenian Genocide.
A landscape torn apart and rebuilt in paint — horizontal bands of grey, white, black, and earth tones fracture the composition, pierced by a raw streak of red and orange that bleeds across the center like an open wound. Diagonal black lines cut through the surface with urgent, unresolved energy, while flecks of yellow and fragments of blue and green emerge beneath the heavy impasto like buried traces of a world that once existed. Painted with controlled anguish in oil on canvas by Senia Baloyan, this small yet devastating work is an act of remembrance — grief made visible, history made tangible.
