Biography
I am an experimental artist, working in mixed media - predominantly in photographic screen-print, stencil and spray paint, collage and inks, with traditional drawing techniques. I work in an illustrative style, using photo processed
silk-screens to create photographic images. This involves coating the
silk-screen in a light sensitive emulsion that acts as a permenant stencil when exposed to UV light - much like developing a photograph.
Coupling this process of printmaking, with the spontaneous nature of watercolour and ink, as well as the urban edge of spray paint, makes a contemporary mix of Pop culture and fashion to create a strickingly original piece of work.
People are a constant source of inspiration for me. Creating characters through layers of shapes, colours and textures excites me. Visualising personalitites and illustrating our deep and complex connection to nature and music is the essence of my work.
I want my work to convey a sense of play and positivity, and perhaps hold a snippet of what life is like here and now.
