About Smit Khond

As long as I can look back, I have always been fascinated by visuals. I love the idea of being able to communicate my thoughts visually; through forms, colours and compositions. I always strive to make a personal connection with the artworks I make, to tell a story, to build up a narrative that sometimes connects back to something we experience in our day-to-day lives or something we have never experienced. I love to keep my work deliberately ambiguous, always inviting for a longer examination. Currently, I am in the process of building my visual language so I am always exploring new styles, new ways of expressing my ideas or feelings. The way I paint is an interplay of limited planning and a lot of discovering. Sometimes I know what I will paint, and sometimes it’s mostly intuition; finding something new, radical & refreshing within the process.
