  • Biography
-Personal Information and Bio and Artist Statement for Artist Robert K. Lynn-

Robert is originally from Iowa. He relocated to Reno, Nevada in 2011 from Sarasota, Florida. Robert is a fraternal twin. Robert has had an interest in art since he was a young boy. Art and History have always been a part of Robert’s life. He has always had an interest in his own family ancestry as well, since he was a young boy. Many of his Earliest European Ancestors arrived in the mid to late 1600’s into Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Many of these Ancestors of Robert’s were Quakers and French Huguenots (King Henri III of France being Robert's 10th Great Grandfather /1551-1589 Capet Branch) & King Henri III - Father & Mother-Henry II of France & Catherine de Medici being Robert's 11th great Grandparents. He is a Son of The American Revolution with several Ancestors. Patrick Henry (1736-1799) / a Founding Father is Robert's 5th Great Grand Uncle. Robert's 3rd Great Grandfather Jeremiah Hollingsworth (1809-1887) signed the Iowa Constitution in 1857. Respectfully, Sir. Winston Churchill is Robert’s 10th Great Grand Cousin 2 times removed. (Sharing the same Grandparents). Frank Lloyd Wright is Robert's 5th Cousin once removed. Robert shares multiple ancestors with both Sir Winston Churchill & Frank Lloyd Wright. Regardfully, Both Frank Lloyd Wright & Sir Winston Churchill being Artists in their own right.

Robert paints in acrylics & mixed media. Robert paints with spontaneity, emotion, and energy-resulting in pieces that arouse and captivate the viewer. His abstract paintings are expressions of his love for color. “My Abstract Paintings allow me to explore color, light and texture. Each painting is a joyful journey of layering color".

Robert is a self-taught Artist. He has only been painting for 15 years. He derives inspiration from the elements of the environment and from nature. Robert's Great Aunt Jessie Hollingsworth Schipfer (a Quaker) was a remarkable Artist and this always lingered in Robert's mind to follow in her footsteps. He has always been inspired by many noted Master Artists such as Joan Miro, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, Joan Mitchell, Grace Hartigan, and Perle Fine to name a few. As a young boy, Robert idolized many noted Artists such as Norman Rockwell, Andrew Wyeth, Paul Cezanne, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas and many others. When growing up his parents always took Robert and his siblings to art museums when they traveled.

Robert has Clients & Collectors in Canada, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Australia, and the USA. Each painting is original, authentic, and personally signed, either on the front or side or back of the canvas. After creation an Acrylic UV Resistant/Archival Fine Gloss Varnish is applied to the surface of the painting to protect the quality of the painting and to safeguard your investment.

    Artist Statement:

My Abstracts have Asian, Middle Eastern, and American Indian influences. They blend primitive and pre-historic arts with environmental inspirations such as landscapes and sky colors. I like building layers into my paintings. For me, it is like telling a story. Individuality is important in choice of color, texture, and shape as I create on the canvas space. I ponder my original intentions as I finalize the layers of the painting. Layering not only makes a strong statement, it also builds character and allows me to tell my Artist’s story. Each layer is like turning from one good book chapter to the next. I draw on the past and my artistic influences to create each piece. I want my paintings to arouse an individual’s mind and soul and to leave an everlasting impression.
