About Olga Bunevich

  • Biography
I create art for those who are facing a difficult inner conversation, for those who are tired and longing for rest, for those who need a quiet impulse to make a decision, and for those who want to release their fears and rediscover happiness in the real world, here and now. My work grows from a lifelong search for meaning, healing, and belonging. That search began in my youth in Crimea, where I first turned to nature and visual expression in search of answers to life’s deeper questions. It has remained with me ever since and continues to guide my practice today, leading me to understand art as an international language that can reach beyond words, borders, and backgrounds. As a Canadian artist, I continue to explore the place where I now live through its landscapes, birds, shorelines, forests, cities, culture, and history. I am deeply moved by the living presence of First Nations histories and relationships to the land, which have expanded my understanding of place, continuity, and respect. Through this exploration, Vancouver and the surrounding natural world have become more than my environment; they have become home. Geese, seagulls, crows, the forest, and the seashore became quiet companions in my healing and artistic renewal. Through painting, I try to offer others that same sense of gentleness, resilience, and hope. I want to sell on Artfinder because I want my work to reach people who are looking not only for something beautiful, but for something meaningful to live with every day.
