Alla Kallass is a self-taught oil painter based in London, Ontario, whose luminous works invite viewers to pause, feel, and connect. Shaped by motherhood, travel, and a deeply disciplined creative practice, Alla has developed a distinctive artistic voice rooted in atmosphere, emotion, and the enduring beauty of the natural world.

Her journey to painting was unconventional. After years in education, Alla discovered a renewed sense of purpose through extensive travels across Europe, Northeast Africa, and Asia. In museums and galleries, she immersed herself in the work of the Old Masters, studying their use of light, color, gesture, and composition. In 2021, she returned to the brush - and found not only a creative outlet, but a profound source of joy, renewal, and self-expression.

Alla’s paintings are rich in presence and feeling. Moving fluidly between figurative works, landscapes, florals, and seascapes, she explores the emotional power of color, texture, light, and movement. Flowers and water hold a special place in her practice, becoming subjects through which she captures nature’s quiet strength, fleeting beauty, and transformative energy.
