About Alisa Onipchenko-Cherniakovska

Biography

Hello, I am a professional Ukrainian artist. I have a higher art education at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, faculty of easel painting, Master's degree. I have been painting for 20 years. I am actively working on creating new series of paintings.

My work explores how light transforms space — whether in remote landscapes, historic cities, or quiet natural environments. I am not interested in geography as a subject, but in atmosphere as an experience.

Through layered oil paint and expressive gesture, I seek the moment when form begins to dissolve and light becomes the emotional center of the composition. Night scenes, coastal horizons, forest silences, and urban evenings all become variations of the same question: how does light alter perception and memory?

Rather than documenting a place, I aim to create a state — a suspended space between movement and stillness, where viewers can encounter both intensity and calm.
