Original Oil painting by Ukrainian artist Alisa Onipchenko-Cherniakovska

Under the Moonlight continues my ongoing exploration of light, atmosphere, and the emotional language of the sea. Here the moon breaks through a dramatic opening in the clouds, casting a luminous path across the restless water. The shoreline remains in shadow while the reflection becomes the true focal point, inviting the viewer to follow the light beyond the visible horizon.

Rather than describing a specific place, this painting captures a fleeting moment when sea, sky, and moon seem to merge into a single living surface. Built with expressive palette knife textures and layered oil paint, the changing light across the impasto reveals new details throughout the day, making the painting feel alive from every angle.

Part of my continuing In the Moonlight series, this original work explores the quiet power of nature and the enduring conversation between darkness and light.

One of a kind artwork. Ready to hang.
