Beyond the Moonlight continues my exploration of light as the true subject of a landscape. Here the moon emerges through layers of shifting clouds, transforming the sea into a field of luminous reflections. A solitary sailboat appears almost incidental, emphasizing the immense scale of sky and water.

Rather than depicting a specific coastline, this painting explores the emotional experience of standing before an endless horizon where light dissolves distance and time. Thick palette knife textures catch the changing light throughout the day, allowing the painting itself to shift in character as natural light moves across its surface.

Part of my ongoing series devoted to moonlight and atmospheric seascapes, this original oil painting celebrates silence, vastness, and the enduring dialogue between sky and sea.
