Artwork description:

A Skuther at Dingleshowe was made on a beautiful remote beach on the island of Orkney. Orkney is an archipelago of islands north east of Scotland where history and time seem to stand still. A 'skuther' is the ancient norse term for a breeze or small gust of wind, Dingle means dell and howe is a hill. The local Orcadian dialect is filled with wonderful words like this that we should try not to lose. The beach is like a small circular hollow reached by climbing over a hill of soft sand dunes.

The soft colours in this image are so naturally beautiful that no real manipulation has been done after taking the photo. The morning promised sun and warm sunny tones warmed up the teal water into cloud of misty teal. This is a place to dream away to, take a walk on the beach and forget the rest of the world.

I photograph and print every image, I do not outsource any part of my workflow. Each canvas has been painstakingly crafted to ensure the true colours, resolution and texture are exactly as they should be.
