Original artwork description
At the height of the covid pandemic, I received some devastating news that my mother had breast cancer. My parents just moved to Arizona and I had decided to travel to Arizona, leaving behind my wife and the city to navigate the uncertainty that was to follow. I spent a month there helping them move into their new home while my mother battled chemo. My only escape in Arizona was riding my bike through the Sonoran Desert where I was impacted by the pure beauty in the life, and sometimes lack of life in the desert. My mother won the battle. I'll never forget Zona.
