Original Artwork Description

This original oil painting was created en plein air from life during the annual Plein Air Festival in Kühlungsborn, Germany, using the alla prima technique in an impressionistic style.
This work was inspired by the yachts along the Baltic Sea shore. Bathed in warm sunlight, they cast rich shadows across the sand and shimmered against the cool, dark waters. I wanted to convey the beauty of that striking contrast and capture a fleeting, peaceful moment by the sea.
This artwork was exhibited at the closing exhibition of the Kühlungsborn Plein Air Festival in May 2025.
