Winter’s Dusk – Reduction Linocut Print

This original reduction linocut, Winter’s Dusk, captures a tranquil countryside scene as the day fades into evening. Bare skeletons of winter trees stretch across rolling hills, their delicate branches creating a striking contrast against layered fields of muted greens, mauves, and soft earthy tones. A warm orange glow of the moon hangs low on the horizon, bringing a quiet sense of calm and atmosphere to the composition.
Printed using professional artist water-based inks, this piece has a luxurious matt finish that enhances the subtle textures of the linocut process. The inks allow the sky to softly glow, creating depth and warmth while maintaining the understated palette that defines the winter landscape.

This piece is entirely made by hand using the reduction Linocut technique. One block is repeatedly carved and printed entirely by hand to slowly build the image. Once the image has been created, no more can be reproduced. everything is done entirely by human hand.

The print is hand-pulled on high-quality Fabriano paper, known for its beautiful surface and archival properties. The paper measures 26 cm x 36.5 cm, with a printed image area of 20.2 cm x 30.5 cm.
