Winter silence, diptych (2024) Original Watercolour by Natalia Butenko

This original watercolor diptych captures the quiet beauty of a winter village, where snow-covered cottages, towering evergreens and softly fading landscapes create an atmosphere of peace and solitude.
The two paintings tell different yet interconnected stories. In the first, rustic village houses emerge from a snowy haze, surrounded by delicate winter textures and a sense of everyday life resting beneath the snow. In the second, snow-laden fir trees shelter small cottages, creating an intimate and almost fairytale-like winter scene.
Soft shades of icy blue, muted grey and warm earthy browns bring depth and harmony to both compositions. Expressive watercolor washes, delicate details and natural textures enhance the feeling of a quiet winter day.
Together, these paintings celebrate the timeless charm of rural landscapes and invite the viewer to pause, breathe and enjoy the peaceful beauty of winter.
An original, hand-painted watercolor diptych. Each painting can be displayed individually or together as a harmonious pair.
