In childhood, when it seems that the world around is collapsing, you just need to be next to a dear adult who only smiles or winks and it immediately seems that the sun has come out and the global flood has stopped.

When you become an adult, then you must call on the sun or stop the flood in your life, first of all, looking for the light in yourself. But just like in childhood, someone's confident smile or kind look can inspire and light a beacon. Even if that smile comes from someone you don't know.

While my favorite stallion Zeiss was alive, I often felt with him that same child who, seeing the smile of an adult dear to him, feels that after any bad weather the sun will come out and a rainbow will appear. Zeiss smiled. Calm, confident and warm. And I felt small and protected next to him. Zeiss smiled just like this sunny mare, looking at which, I feel how the light spreads through the body and fills it.

Today, as I write these words, I look at the mare and see that she is not only smiling. She is calling somewhere.

I called this picture “Winter”, but this winter tells about the anticipation of spring, about how you wait and believe that very soon the world will come to life with new colors.
